Dave Hillman is an
information technologist specializing in information systems,
software engineering, Internet/Web technologies, security,
multimedia, and database technologies.
With almost 30 years' experience, I have worked on:
- Web-based information delivery and support systems
- Information systems including information management, data warehousing,
intelligence processing, and security.
- Expert and neural knowledge-based systems
- Weapons and intelligence systems
- Multimedia-based information systems
- Educational-support technologies.
- In addition to consulting, I teach technology and
information systems (web and programming) courses at The Johns
Hopkins University.
- I have published a number of journal and magazine
articles in addition to a textbook on multimedia technology.
A lot of my early life was spent moving around:
- Born and spent early childhood in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Move to Los Angeles and attended Hollywood High School,
then to Russell County, Kentucky in my senior year of high school.
- Enlisted in the USAF in 1974 and was stationed in Denver (Lowry
AFB), Las Vegas (Nellis AFB), West Germany (Spangdahlem AB), and Ogden, Utah
(Hill AFB and a lot of TDY to Dugway Proving Grounds).
- Left the service in 1983 and moved to Montgomery County, Maryland.
In case anyone is wondering, my hobbies include:
- Reading (science fiction, Tom Clancy, and books on physics)
- Computers (obviously)
- Weight lifting and training
- Astronomy and physics (when I have time)
I live in Damascus, Maryland with my wife Leslie, daughter
Aubrey, and a cat named Muffin.
